Iraqi MP asks government to grant Grand Ayatollah Sistani the highest medal

Secretary- General for Nation Party, MP Mithal al- Alossi has asked Iraqi government to grant Grand Ayatollah Ali al- Sistani the highest medal as appreciation for his great services and stance rendered to Iraqi people and as a reply for Saudi clergy man's allegations against him.

In a statement posted on Iraqi Nation Party's website, al- Alossi said" Salafi sect individuals are always trying to get Iraqi Icons down through and shed Iraqis' blood with their religious opinions and their blind bigotry".

He revealed his party's intention to conduct a combined visit for al- Sistani's office in Holy Najaf province to voice the denouncement to such as allegations and offences and hail the big role played by the moderate Grand Ayatollah as long as it had been depicted with wisdom and insight.

Al- Alossi referred that Ayatollah and other icons would be the religious symbols where Iraqis used to see them as a ' pride', asking Iraqi government to grant him the highest medal in Iraq for his great services rendered to Iraqis in response to expiatory.
